She Is Not Lost, She Is Between

They’ll say she disappeared. She got quiet. Pulled back. Changed.
But she is not lost.
She is between.
Between who the world asked her to be and the woman her bones have always known.
The in-between does not look glamorous. It looks like silence. Like unanswered messages. Like her no longer explaining herself. It looks like less performance and more presence.
For years she adapted. She learned how to be agreeable, capable, needed. She became fluent in holding everything together. She wore strength like a uniform.
Until one day, something inside her refused.
The Fire Acts don’t begin with an announcement. They begin with a rupture. A quiet internal shift where she realizes she cannot keep betraying herself to remain acceptable.
So she stops.
Stops over-explaining.
Stops over-functioning.
Stops shrinking to keep the room comfortable.
From the outside, it feels like distance.
From the inside, it feels like return.
The in-between is disorienting because she is no longer who she was—but she is not yet fully expressed as who she is becoming. This is the hallway between identities. And hallways are rarely applauded.
There is grief here. She may grieve the praise she once received for self-sacrifice. The relationships that only worked when she was smaller. The ease of being who everyone expected.
But what she gains is alignment.
Her inside begins to match her outside.
She grows quieter because she is listening. Not to the noise around her—but to the thunder within. The voice that says:
You deserve rest.
You deserve truth.
You deserve to choose yourself.
The world may call it withdrawal.
It is incubation.
She is not disappearing.
She is distilling.
Not lost.
Between.
And between is sacred.
