The Way In

We spend much of our lives looking for the next door.
The next opportunity.
The next chapter.
The place where everything finally makes sense.
We imagine that what's changing
must always be ahead of us.
But not every door opens outward.
Some open inward.
The ones that change us
rarely arrive with certainty.
They appear in ordinary moments.
A question we can no longer avoid.
A silence that asks to be heard.
A morning when something inside us
finally refuses to be ignored.
No one can walk through these doors for us.
Because the distance isn't measured in miles.
It's measured in honesty.
Sometimes we meet forgotten dreams.
Sometimes buried grief.
Sometimes the person we left behind
while becoming who everyone else needed.
Perhaps the bravest journey
isn't into the unknown.
Perhaps it's inward.
Because the door we've been waiting for...
has been waiting for us.
